There are two types of brownie lovers out there. There are those who love cakey brownies, and others who love fudgy brownies.
In my personal opinion, I think fudge brownies are the way to go!
What is the difference between a fudgy brownie and a cakey brownie?
Similar to a cake itself, a cakey brownie has a higher percentage of flour and lower percentage of fat in the brownie mixture.
While a fudge brownie has more butter and chocolate making it gooey and more chocolate-y. They almost have the texture of fudge but are not nearly as dense.
Don’t confuse a fudgy brownie with a chewy brownie though! What makes a brownie chewy is what type of sugar you use. In this case, normal white sugar vs brown sugar.
Although I like how cakey brownies are light and airy… that is not really what I am looking for when I am craving a brownie.
So if you are like me, and love a fudgy brownie this recipe is for you.
Why is this the best fudgy brownie recipe?
I love this recipe because it is perfect if you have a quick brownie craving, as you probably already have most of the ingredients you will need.
It is also quick, easy and delicious so you will never have to go back to box brownies.
Also, you can customize it however you want! For example, you could add chocolate chunks or toasted nuts.
What makes this recipe be ‘double chocolate’ is the fact that we are using both chocolate chips or chunks as and then adding cocoa powder.
Therefore, you also have the option of making this recipe as normal ‘one chocolate’ brownie recipe if you do not add the cocoa powder to your brownie mix.
But where is the fun in that!
Happy Baking!
